polygonum (knotweed)

polygonum is a member of the polygonaceae family. the plants are commonly known as knotweed or knotgrass. some of them can be used as a herb. others are popular garden plants.

the genus was reclassified and a lot of the popular species are now belonging to fallopia or persicaria. but they are still sold under their old names. that’s why i listet both.
